NBA Roundup: Joel Embiid and the Sixers defeat the Wizards

Meanwhile, Jordan Poole led the Washington team with 23 points as the Wizards suffered their 17th loss of the season, leaving them second from the bottom in the East.

The Clippers clinched the win with 25 points from Paul George, including five three-pointers, and James Harden contributing 20 points.

Luka Doncic delivered an impressive performance, scoring 40 points, grabbing 11 rebounds, and dishing out 10 assists, including a triple-double in the first half, in the Dallas Mavericks’ dominant 147-97 victory over the Utah Jazz. Doncic’s outstanding display, marking his 60th career triple-double, propelled him past the iconic Larry Bird to claim the ninth spot on the NBA’s all-time triple-double rankings. The Mavericks’ record improved to 12-8 following the win, while Utah’s dropped to 7-14.

Minnesota Timberwolves 102 San Antonio Spurs 94

San Antonio’s disappointing beginning to the season persisted as they suffered a 102-94 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Spurs’ 15th consecutive loss keeps them at the bottom of the Western Conference with a 3-17 record. Despite the efforts of their top draft pick Victor Wembanyama, who scored 12 points on 4-of-13 shooting, he was overshadowed by his French compatriot Rudy Gobert. Gobert contributed 16 points and 20 rebounds for the Wolves, who currently lead the Western Conference with a 16-4 record.

Golden State Warriors 110 Portland Trail Blazers 106

In Portland, the Golden State Warriors secured a 110-106 victory over the Trail Blazers with 31 points from Steph Curry. The win improved the Warriors’ record to 10-11, while Portland’s dropped to 6-14.
