Ja Morant had an impressive comeback after a 25-game suspension on Tuesday, scoring a game-winning layup at the buzzer to lead the Memphis Grizzlies to a 115-113 NBA win against the New Orleans Pelicans.

The basket marked the end of a game in which Ja Morant scored 34 points, made eight assists, and grabbed six rebounds. Ja Morant had been suspended by the league for the first 25 games of the season due to two social media posts showing him with guns. He seemed a bit out of practice at the beginning and tired towards the end, but overall Morant exceeded the expectations of the Grizzlies with his performance.

Golden State Warriors 132, Boston Celtics 126

Elsewhere in the Bay Area, the Golden State Warriors narrowly defeated the Boston Celtics 132-126 in an intense overtime game in San Francisco. Warriors’ standout player Stephen Curry contributed 33 points, with 13 of them coming in the fourth quarter and seven in overtime, leading the team’s comeback from a 17-point deficit. Alongside Klay Thompson, Curry made six three-pointers each, ultimately ending Boston’s five-game winning streak.

A crucial three-pointer by Curry tied the score at 121-121 with 1:36 left in regulation. The game went into overtime, during which the Warriors took the lead with a steal and dunk by Jonathan Kuminga and maintained it until the end. Jaylen Brown led the Celtics with 28 points, while Derrick White added 30 and Jayson Tatum contributed 15 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists despite rolling his ankle in the first quarter.

Milwaukee Bucks 132, San Antonio Spurs 119

In a game against the San Antonio Spurs in Milwaukee, Damian Lillard achieved a season-high of 40 points, reaching a significant milestone in the NBA by becoming the 51st player to score 20,000 career points. Additionally, Giannis Antetokounmpo had an outstanding performance, securing a triple-double with 11 points, 14 rebounds, and a career-best 16 assists in the Milwaukee Bucks’ 132-119 victory. The Spurs were without rookie standout Victor Wembanyama, who was sidelined due to an ankle injury.
