NBA Recap: Warriors crumble to Jokic and the Nuggets

In San Francisco, Jokic secured a comeback victory for the Nuggets over the Warriors by making a shot from just inside halfcourt. He ended the game with 34 points, shooting 13 out of 16.

Jokic, a two-time NBA MVP, also contributed nine rebounds and 10 assists to aid the Nuggets sink the Warriors at the buzzer. His step-back shot tied the game at 127-127 with 26 seconds left. Then, his teammate Jamal Murray made a steal from an errant pass by Stephen Curry, setting up Jokic to receive an inbound pass and make the game-winning shot over Kevon Looney. Aaron Gordon scored 30 points and Jamal Murray added 25 for the Nuggets. Meanwhile, Curry led Golden State with 30 points and six assists, and Klay Thompson contributed 24 points.

Milwaukee Bucks 125, San Antonio Spurs 121

The Milwaukee Bucks, led by Giannis Antetokounmpo’s 44 points, managed to secure a 125-121 victory over the San Antonio Spurs on Thursday, despite a strong performance from Victor Wembanyama on his 20th birthday. In the other game on Thursday, the reigning champion Denver Nuggets clinched a 130-127 win over the Golden State Warriors, with Nikola Jokic hitting a buzzer-beating three-pointer.

Wembanyama, who was recovering from an ankle injury, was limited to 26 minutes on the court in his highly anticipated first matchup against Antetokounmpo. The French rookie scored 27 points with nine rebounds and five blocked shots, while Devin Vassell led the Spurs with 34 points.
