NBA Recap: Timberwolves triumph over Nets

Anthony Edwards led the Timberwolves to a 101-86 victory over the Nets in Minneapolis on Saturday night with 29 points and eight rebounds.

Karl-Anthony Towns scored 28 points and grabbed nine rebounds for the Timberwolves, who quickly recovered from a previous loss to the Bucks. Mike Conley ended with 14 points. Cam Thomas led the Nets with 18 points as they suffered their fourth consecutive defeat. Mikal Bridges had 15 points, eight assists, and six rebounds, while Nic Claxton added 12 points and seven rebounds.

Celtics 116, Knicks 102

Jaylen Brown led the Boston Celtics to their eighth consecutive victory by scoring 30 points and grabbing eight rebounds in a 116-102 win over the New York Knicks. Kristaps Porzingis contributed 22 points for the Celtics, while Jayson Tatum added 19 points, six rebounds, and six assists. Boston had six players scoring at least 10 points and dominated in points in the paint with a 58-38 advantage. Jalen Brunson led the Knicks with 34 points and nine assists, but New York fell to 0-4 against the Celtics this season. Josh Hart chipped in with 16 points, eight rebounds, and six assists for the Knicks, and Precious Achiuwa recorded eight points and a team-high nine rebounds.

Magic 112, Pistons 109

Paolo Banchero secured a crucial three-point play in the final second, propelling the Orlando Magic to a 112-109 victory over the Detroit Pistons on Saturday night. The Magic, who have triumphed in eight of their last ten games, saw eight players reach double figures in scoring. Banchero led the team with 15 points, followed closely by Franz Wagner, Jalen Suggs, and Moritz Wagner who each contributed 14 points.

Cole Anthony added 13 points and seven assists, while Wendell Carter recorded 11 points and 10 rebounds. Moritz Wagner also grabbed seven boards. On the Pistons’ side, Cunningham led with 26 points, Fontecchio scored 17 points, and Duren finished with 16 points and 11 rebounds, as the team suffered their fifth consecutive loss.
