NBA Recap: Steph Curry leads Warriors to victory over Lakers

Steph Curry scored 32 points and made six 3-pointers as the Warriors defeated the Lakers 128-110 in San Francisco on Thursday.

Steph Curry started the game strong for the Warriors by hitting six out of eight shots, with four of them being three-pointers, scoring 16 points in the first quarter. He also contributed eight assists and reached a milestone of 6,000 assists in the regular season, becoming the first Warrior to do so. Anthony Davis led the Lakers with 27 points and 15 rebounds, but their three-game winning streak came to an end. LeBron James did not play due to a sore left ankle, which halted the Lakers’ momentum after scoring an average of 134 points in their last three games before the All-Star break.

Mavericks 123, Suns 113

Luka Doncic led the Mavericks to a 123-113 home win over the Phoenix Suns with 41 points, nine rebounds, and 11 assists, while Kyrie Irving contributed 29 points. Devin Booker scored 35 points for the Suns, and Kevin Durant added 23. The victory allowed the Mavericks to equal Phoenix’s 33-23 record and secure the tiebreaker over the Suns.

Celtics 129, Bulls 112

Derrick White and Jayson Tatum led the Celtics to a 129-112 victory over the Bulls in Chicago, with White scoring 28 points and Tatum scoring 25. Boston initially took a 16-point lead in the first quarter, but the Bulls fought back in the second period, outscoring the Celtics 39-28 and leading by three at halftime. However, Boston regained control in the second half, with White and Tatum each making five three-pointers as the team connected on a total of 23 shots from beyond the arc. Nikola Vucevic led Chicago with 22 points and 14 rebounds, but the Bulls struggled to respond when Boston tightened up their defense in the latter part of the game.

Nuggets 130, Wizards 110

In a recent game against the Washington Wizards, Denver Nuggets’ standout player Nikola Jokic achieved a remarkable feat in NBA history by becoming only the third player to achieve a triple-double against every team he has played in the league. Jokic’s outstanding performance included scoring 21 points, grabbing 19 rebounds, and dishing out 15 assists while shooting a flawless 10-for-10 from the field.

Thunder 129, Clippers 107

In Oklahoma City, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 31 points to lead the Thunder to a 129-107 victory against the Los Angeles Clippers in a matchup between top Western Conference teams. Lu Dort contributed 19 points, and all five starters reached double figures for the Thunder, who are now just one game behind the Western Conference leaders, Minnesota. Kawhi Leonard scored 20 points, and Norman Powell added 19 points off the bench for the Clippers, who currently hold the third spot in the conference standings.
