NBA Recap: Milwaukee Bucks surprise OKC in a blowout win

Giannis Antetokounmpo led the Milwaukee Bucks to a 118-93 victory against OKC in a highly anticipated NBA matchup on Sunday.

Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 30 points and grabbed a season-high 19 rebounds to lead the Milwaukee Bucks to a 118-93 victory over OKC. Khris Middleton also had a notable performance, achieving his second career triple-double with 11 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists. The Milwaukee Bucks’ strong defensive effort limited OKC to their lowest point production of the season at 37.1% shooting. OKC’s loss dropped them to a 49-21 record, slipping half a game behind Denver in the Western Conference and staying half a game ahead of Minnesota.

Milwaukee Bucks, now at 46-25, holds the second spot in the Eastern Conference, leading Cleveland by three games. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of OKC scored only 12 points, marking one of his lowest totals of the season and ending a 29-game streak of scoring at least 20 points per game. The Milwaukee Bucks dominated the third quarter, outscoring OKC 34-17, and then sealed the game with a 10-3 run at the start of the fourth quarter.

76ers 121, Clippers 107

Tobias Harris and Tyrese Maxey both contributed 24 points each in the 76ers‘ 121-107 win on the road against the Clippers. Despite missing Joel Embiid, the 76ers took an early lead and held off a late comeback attempt for the victory. James Harden scored 12 points, struggling from the 3-point line, but he also recorded a game-high 14 assists. Kawhi Leonard and Norman Powell each scored 20 points for the Clippers. With this win, the 76ers now have a record of 39-32, trailing Indiana by one game for the sixth playoff spot in the East. The Clippers, on the other hand, dropped to 44-26, just half a game ahead of New Orleans for fourth place in the Western Conference.

Pelicans 114, Pistons 101

In a 114-101 win over Detroit, New Orleans saw Zion Williamson score 36 points, equaling his season best, and C.J. McCollum contribute 23 points. The victory handed the Pistons, who have the worst record in the league at 12-59, their sixth straight loss. Williamson’s impressive performance included making 13 of 14 field goal attempts and 10 of 14 free throws, along with grabbing seven rebounds and dishing out six assists.

Timberwolves 114, Warriors 110

In Minnesota, Anthony Edwards led the Timberwolves to a 114-110 victory over the Golden State Warriors by scoring 23 points, including three crucial free throws in the last 12 seconds. This win marked the first time the T-Wolves had swept the Warriors in a season since 1997-98. Stephen Curry was the top scorer for Golden State with 31 points.

Lakers 150, Pacers 145

In a high-scoring game, Anthony Davis led the Los Angeles Lakers with 36 points and 16 rebounds, while LeBron James contributed 26 points and 10 assists in a 150-145 victory over the Indiana Pacers. Spencer Dinwiddie and Austin Reaves also had strong performances for the Lakers, scoring 26 and 25 points respectively. Pascal Siakam led the Pacers with 36 points.

Heat 121, Cavs 84

In Miami, Bam Adebayo scored 15 points and grabbed 16 rebounds, Jimmy Butler added 15 points, and Haywood Highsmith came off the bench to score 18 points as the Heat easily defeated Cleveland 121-84.
