NBA Recap: Lakers triumph Bucks in overtime

Anthony Davis spearheaded an impressive comeback in the final moments as the Lakers erased a 19-point fourth quarter gap to secure a 128-124 victory over the Bucks in double overtime on Tuesday.

In the absence of LeBron James due to injury, a hobbled Davis played for nearly 52 minutes to lead the Lakers to a win against a strong Bucks team. Davis had an impressive performance with 34 points, 23 rebounds, two assists, and four blocks. Austin Reaves and D’Angelo Russell also contributed offensively with 29 points each. The game was closely contested, with the Lakers tying it up at 101-101 in the final seconds of regulation.

Overtime periods saw the lead change hands until the Lakers secured a 126-121 victory. Giannis Antetokounmpo led the Bucks with 29 points, while Damian Lillard added 27. The win puts the Lakers in a good position for a spot in the play-in tournament, currently ranking ninth in the Western Conference with a 40-32 record. The Bucks, despite the loss, remain second in the Eastern Conference with a 46-26 record.

Warriors 113, Heat 92

In another game on Tuesday, the Golden State Warriors enhanced their chances of making it to the playoffs by securing a significant 113-92 win against the Miami Heat away from home. Klay Thompson scored 28 points coming off the bench, with six three-pointers, while Jonathan Kuminga contributed 18 points. Stephen Curry and Andrew Wiggins also chipped in with 17 points each as the Warriors advanced to a 37-34 record, holding onto the 10th spot in the Western Conference.

Thunder 119, Pelicans 112

Meanwhile in New Orleans, the Oklahoma City Thunder maintained their pressure on the top Western Conference team, Denver, by securing a 119-112 victory against the Pelicans. Despite Zion Williamson’s impressive performance of 29 points and 10 assists for New Orleans, the Thunder’s well-rounded offense led them to victory. This win places them just half a game behind Denver in the Western Conference standings with a record of 50-21. Jalen Williams contributed 26 points, Josh Giddey added 25, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 24 for the Thunder.
