NBA Recap: Jalen Brunson shines as Knicks defeat Wizards

In New York, Jalen Brunson scored 20 of his 41 points in the final quarter to lead the Knicks to a close 113-109 win against the Wizards.

Jalen Brunson made a strong comeback for the Knicks, scoring 30 points after missing two games due to injury. He also contributed eight rebounds and eight assists. Julius Randle added 21 points for New York, while Donte DiVincenzo and OG Anunoby each scored 19 points to assist the Knicks in overcoming 17 turnovers. Jordan Poole led the Wizards with 24 points.

Timberwolves 118, Grizzlies 103

The Minnesota Timberwolves dominated the fourth quarter, leading to a 118-103 win over the Memphis Grizzlies on Thursday. This victory helped them maintain their lead in the NBA Western Conference over Oklahoma City, who also won their game against the Utah Jazz with a score of 134-129. Anthony Edwards, a key player for the Timberwolves, overcame a slow start to score 28 points, with 26 of them coming in the second half and 12 in the fourth quarter. The Timberwolves outscored the Grizzlies 37-17 in the final quarter.

Rudy Gobert, the Timberwolves’ center, contributed 17 points, 10 rebounds, and six blocked shots, while Naz Reid added 20 points off the bench. This helped Minnesota secure the win against the injury-depleted Grizzlies, who are missing star player Ja Morant for the rest of the season and dealing with several other injuries. Jaren Jackson Jr. scored 36 points and Luke Kennard made five three-pointers, totaling 18 points for the Grizzlies, who had been leading for most of the game.

Thunder 134, Jazz 129

Thunder defeated the Jazz with a 31-point performance from Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, leading throughout the game. Despite the Jazz’s six-game winning streak, the Thunder managed to hold them off. Jalen Williams scored 27 points, with 11 coming in the fourth quarter, and all five Thunder starters scored in double figures. The Jazz made a late push, cutting the deficit to four points, but Chet Holmgren’s block and a free throw sealed the victory for Oklahoma City. Collin Sexton scored 31 points and Lauri Markkanen added 26 for the Jazz, who managed to level the score in the third quarter after trailing by as many as 19 in the first.

Pacers 126, Kings 121

The Indiana Pacers defeated the Kings 126-121 in Sacramento, even though Tyrese Haliburton, a key player, was still out due to injury. Bennedict Mathurin led the Pacers with 25 points, and six other players also scored in double figures. Indiana managed to withstand Domantas Sabonis’s triple-double performance, as he scored 21 points, grabbed 11 rebounds, and dished out 10 assists.

Bulls 116, Raptors 110

The Chicago Bulls secured a 116-110 victory over the Raptors in Toronto, with both Nikola Vucevic and DeMar DeRozan contributing 24 points each. Vucevic also grabbed 14 rebounds and dished out seven assists, while Coby White added 23 points. The Bulls outscored the Raptors 74-50 in the paint. Scottie Barnes led Toronto with 31 points, briefly putting the Raptors ahead 109-108 before White’s jump shot secured the win for the Bulls.
