NBA Recap: Jalen Brunson and the Knicks triumph the Warriors

Jalen Brunson, aged 27, led the Knicks to a wire-to-wire 119-112 road win against the Warriors in San Francisco on Monday by scoring 34 points.

After defeating the Lakers in a high-scoring game on Saturday, the Warriors found themselves at a disadvantage as the Knicks team quickly took a commanding 20-6 lead in the first quarter at the Chase Center. Despite facing injuries, point guard Jalen Brunson orchestrated an impressive victory for the Knicks, positioning them well for the playoffs.

Jalen Brunson get help from Miles McBride, who contributed significantly with a career-best 29 points in only his sixth NBA start. The Warriors, who have struggled with inconsistency, suffered another setback with this loss, bringing their home record to 17-18 for the season. Currently in 10th place in the Western Conference, the Warriors holds the final play-in spot. Stephen Curry led the Warriors in scoring with 27 points.

Lakers 136, Hawks 105

In Los Angeles, the Lakers responded to their loss against the Warriors on Saturday with a convincing 136-105 victory over the Atlanta Hawks. D’Angelo Russell made six out of 10 three-point shots to score 27 points, while LeBron James had 25 points and Anthony Davis scored 22. The Lakers are currently in ninth place in the Western Conference with a record of 37-32.

Cavs 108, Pacers 103

In another match on Monday, the Cleveland Cavaliers made a comeback from a 15-point disadvantage to secure a 108-103 win against the Indiana Pacers in Indianapolis. Jarrett Allen and Caris LeVert were the top scorers for the Cavaliers, each contributing 23 points, while the Cleveland defense limited Tyrese Haliburton to only 14 points. With this victory, Cleveland’s record improved to 43-25, keeping them in third place in the Eastern Conference standings, trailing the Boston Celtics in first place and the Milwaukee Bucks in second place.

Celtics 119, Pistons 94

The Celtics, who are dominating the Eastern Conference with a 54-14 record, easily won another game by beating the Detroit Pistons 119-94 at TD Garden in Boston. Jaylen Brown was the top scorer for Boston with 31 points in three quarters, and Derrick White achieved his first career triple-double with 22 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists.

Timberwolves 114, Jazz 104

In Salt Lake City, Anthony Edwards delivered an impressive dunk during the Minnesota Timberwolves‘ victory over the Utah Jazz. Edwards scored 32 points and had a standout moment in the third quarter when he jumped over John Collins for a memorable highlight.

76ers 98, Heat 91

In Philadelphia, Tyrese Maxey had an impressive performance with 30 points, 10 assists, and eight rebounds as the 76ers beat the Miami Heat 98-91. Despite missing Joel Embiid due to injury, the Sixers dominated the third quarter by outscoring Miami 28-16 and taking a 17-point lead. Although the Heat managed to tie the game in the fourth quarter, the Sixers ultimately held on for the win, bringing their record to 37-30, tying them with Miami.
