NBA Recap: Grizzlies surprise Bucks in narrow win

Ziaire Williams and rookie GG Jackson each contributed 27 points to help the Grizzlies hold off a late comeback attempt by the Bucks in a 113-110 victory on Thursday.

The Grizzlies secured a win as Damian Lillard’s last-second 3-point shot missed. This victory marked their second consecutive win after a nine-game losing streak. Williams achieved a personal best in points, while Jackson equaled his career-high. Despite having 10 players sidelined due to injuries, only seven Grizzlies contributed to the scoring. Giannis Antetokounmpo led the Bucks with 35 points and 12 assists, with Lillard adding 24 points.

Warriors 140, Jazz 137

Klay Thompson, who usually starts for the Golden State Warriors, came off the bench and scored a season-best 35 points in a close 140-137 victory over the Utah Jazz in Salt Lake City. This win marked the Warriors’ sixth in seven games and saw head coach Steve Kerr reach his 500th career victory. Thompson’s performance also made him the sixth player in Warriors history to surpass 15,000 points. Draymond Green and Andrew Wiggins also had strong showings for the Warriors, while Collin Sexton and Keyonte George led the scoring for the struggling Utah team, which lost its fourth consecutive game.

Timberwolves 128, Blazers 91

Anthony Edwards scored a total of 34 points in the game against Portland, helping Minnesota secure a win as they wrapped up a two-game series. In the first game, Edwards had scored 41 points in Portland, leading Minnesota to a 121-109 victory. In the second game, he shot 12 out of 21 attempts and also contributed with seven assists and six rebounds for the Timberwolves. This win marked the fourth consecutive victory for Minnesota on their five-game road trip. Jerami Grant scored 20 points and Scoot Henderson added 15 points for the Trail Blazers, who suffered their sixth straight loss and were behind by as much as 38 points during the game.
