NBA Recap: De’Aaron Fox leads Kings victory over Lakers

De’Aaron Fox had his highest scoring game of the season with 44 points, while Domantas Sabonis achieved his 22nd triple-double in the NBA with 16 points, 20 rebounds, and 12 assists as the Kings came back from a 19-point deficit to defeat the Lakers 130-120 on Wednesday.

De’Aaron Fox received support from Malik Monk, who contributed 26 points and eight assists coming off the bench against his former team. Davion Mitchell scored 12 points, and Harrison Barnes added 11 as the Kings bounced back after losing three of their last four games. The Kings now hold a 3-0 record against the Lakers, with the final game of the four-game season series set to take place in Sacramento next week.

LeBron James scored 31 points and had 13 assists, while Rui Hachimura added 29 points as the Lakers fell to a 2-2 record in their six-game homestand. Anthony Davis recorded 14 points and 11 rebounds and Austin Reaves contributed 18 points, but the Lakers was unable to capitalize on their previous home victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Lakers narrowed the gap to 104-92 by the end of the third quarter, with De’Aaron Fox scoring 32 points for the Kings. The Kings then started the fourth quarter with a 14-5 run, extending their lead to 118-97, and maintained control for the rest of the game. De’Aaron Fox and the Kings are currently in seventh place in the Western Conference with a record of 35 wins and 26 losses.

Warriors 125, Bucks 90

Stephen Curry scored 29 points to lead a well-rounded offensive effort as the Golden State Warriors bounced back from a tough loss in Boston by defeating the Milwaukee Bucks 125-90 in San Francisco. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jalen Williams combined for 68 points to help the Oklahoma City Thunder secure a 128-120 win over the Portland Trail Blazers. Chet Holmgren contributed a double-double with 21 points and 14 rebounds as the Thunder extended their winning streak to eight out of their last ten games. This victory marked the fourth consecutive win for Oklahoma City against Portland, making it their 12th straight win over the Trail Blazers. Josh Giddey chipped in with 19 points, seven assists, and six rebounds, while Gordon Hayward provided 10 points off the bench. On the other side, Anfernee Simons led the Trail Blazers with 29 points, followed by Jerami Grant with 20 points.

Bulls 119, Jazz 117

DeMar DeRozan scored 29 points and made crucial free throws in the final seconds to secure a 119-117 victory for the Chicago Bulls against the Utah Jazz in Salt Lake City. Coby White contributed 25 points, while Nikola Vucevic recorded 23 points and 12 rebounds as the Bulls extended their winning streak to 2-0 on their current four-game Western trip. Utah’s Collins led his team with 25 points and 13 rebounds, along with two blocks. Sexton also had a strong performance with 24 points and seven assists. Rookie Brice Sensabaugh, filling in for the injured Lauri Markkanen, achieved career highs with 15 points and 12 rebounds in his first start.

Grizzlies 115, 76ers 109

Jaren Jackson Jr. scored 30 points, grabbed 11 rebounds, and blocked six shots as the Memphis Grizzlies made a late 11-0 run to come from behind and defeat the Philadelphia 76ers 115-109 on Wednesday. Franz Wagner tallied 28 points while Paolo Banchero contributed 25 points and 10 assists as the Orlando Magic, playing as the visiting team, overcame a 21-point first-half disadvantage to defeat Washington 119-109 on Wednesday. This victory marked the Wizards’ 16th consecutive loss.
