NBA Recap: Boston Celtics bounce back with victory over Suns

Jayson Tatum scored 29 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, and dished out seven assists, while Jaylen Brown added 27 points to lead the Boston Celtics to a 117-107 victory over the Suns on Saturday night, preventing their first three-game losing streak of the season.

Jayson Tatum overcame a slow start to score 29 points and secure 10 rebounds, while Jaylen Brown also contributed 27 points for the Boston Celtics. The Boston Celtics had recently suffered losses to Cleveland and the reigning NBA champions, Denver. Al Horford of Boston Celtics scored nine points and grabbed 12 rebounds, with Luke Kornet coming off the bench to add 14 points and six rebounds. Unfortunately, Kristaps Porzingis, the starting center for the Boston Celtics, was unable to play due to hamstring tightness, with coach Joe Mazzulla stating that Porzingis is considered day-to-day. Despite Kevin Durant scoring 45 points and Bradley Beal adding 25, the Suns, missing injured All-Star Devin Booker, found themselves trailing for most of the game.

Mavericks 142, Pistons 124

Luka Doncic of the Mavericks made NBA history on Saturday by achieving a unique feat. He became the first player to record six consecutive 30-point triple-doubles as the Mavericks defeated the Detroit Pistons 142-124. Doncic’s impressive performance included 39 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists, surpassing Russell Westbrook’s previous record of five straight 30-point triple-doubles from the 2016-17 season. Kyrie Irving also contributed with 21 points for Dallas, extending their lead to 16 points in the third quarter and starting the fourth quarter with a 7-0 scoring run. On the Pistons’ side, Cade Cunningham put up 33 points along with 10 assists and nine rebounds.

Spurs 126, Warriors 113

In a match between two teams dealing with injuries, the San Antonio Spurs defeated the Golden State Warriors 126-113 in San Francisco. Keldon Johnson led the Spurs with 22 points and 11 rebounds as star rookie Victor Wembanyama was out with an ankle injury. Klay Thompson scored 27 points off the bench for the Warriors, who were missing Stephen Curry due to a right ankle injury.

Nuggets 142, Jazz 121

The Denver Nuggets dominated the Utah Jazz with a score of 142-121 in Denver, with Jamal Murray contributing 37 points and Nikola Jokic scoring 26.

Clippers 112, Bulls 102

In Los Angeles, the Clippers extended their winning streak to three games by defeating the Chicago Bulls 112-102 at home.
