NBA Recap: Anthony Davis shines as the Lakers defeat the Raptors

Anthony Davis scored 41 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, while LeBron James contributed 22 points and 12 assists as the Lakers secured back-to-back wins for the first time in more than a month, defeating the Raptors 132-131 in their home game on Tuesday.

Anthony Davis and Lebron received support from their teammates, with Christian Wood contributing 14 points and Cam Reddish adding 13 as the Lakers secured their fifth win in 15 games since winning the NBA’s in-season tournament. Taurean Prince, Austin Reaves, and D’Angelo Russell also chipped in with 11 points each for the Lakers, who had a 54.3% shooting percentage. On the other hand, Scottie Barnes scored 26 points and Pascal Siakam added 25 as the Raptors, who have a 3-2 record since adding RJ Barrett and Immanuel Quickley to their lineup, suffered a loss. Barrett scored 23 points and Quickley added 21 before fouling out in the fourth quarter.

Kings 131, Pistons 110

Domantas Sabonis achieved a triple-double with 37 points, 13 assists, and 10 rebounds as Sacramento triumphed over Detroit. Keegan Murray contributed 32 points and De’Aaron Fox added 26 for the Kings, who closed the game with a 30-9 run. Off the bench, Malik Monk provided a boost with 20 points and nine assists. Bojan Bogdanovic led the Pistons with 26 points, while Jaden Ivey recorded 22 points and six assists. Jalen Duren secured 16 points and 10 rebounds. Detroit, who have suffered five consecutive losses, played their first game since learning that top scorer Cade Cunningham would be sidelined due to a left knee strain.

Timberwolves 113, Magic 92

Karl-Anthony Towns scored 28 points on 11-of-19 shooting as Minnesota easily defeated Orlando. Rudy Gobert had a double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds for Minnesota, who rebounded from a loss to the Dallas Mavericks. Jaden McDaniels ended with 15 points, and Naz Reid achieved a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Moritz Wagner came off the bench to score 21 points on 6-of-9 shooting for Orlando. Jalen Suggs scored 20 points and Paolo Banchero contributed 18.

Knicks 112, Trail Blazers 84

OG Anunoby scored 23 points and the Knicks dominated from start to finish, extending their winning streak to five games with a decisive victory over Portland. Julius Randle contributed 20 points, eight assists, and seven rebounds in three quarters, while the Knicks made 18 three-pointers, led by as many as 39 points, and held Portland to their lowest point total of the season. Jerami Grant scored 21 points for the Trail Blazers, who have now lost 14 of their last 18 games. Portland shot 38.4 percent from the field, also marking their lowest scoring output of the season.

Grizzlies 120, Mavericks 103

Desmond Bane scored 32 points and grabbed nine rebounds to help Memphis win against Dallas. Marcus Smart scored 23 points but had to leave the game in the third quarter due to a dislocated finger on his right hand. The short-handed Grizzlies played without key players Jaren Jackson Jr. (knee) and Ja Morant (out for the season with a shoulder injury). Kyrie Irving ended with 33 points, eight rebounds, and four steals, while Luka Doncic added 31 points for the Mavericks, who suffered their third loss in the last four games of their seven-game homestand. Together, they only made four of 15 three-point attempts.
