Preview: Manchester City vs Wolves

Manchester City vs Wolves is scheduled for Saturday at 5:30pm at the Etihad Stadium as Man City continue their pursuit for the premier league title. Manchester City will also be looking to avenge their 2-1 loss to Wolves in the previous match at Molineux nearly eight months ago.

Manchester City will face a challenge in their pursuit of a fourth consecutive Premier League title when they host Wolves at Etihad Stadium. Despite a recent winning streak without conceding any goals, City will face a tough test as Wolves previously defeated them this season. City are aiming to close the gap on league leaders Arsenal and set a new club record of 43 unbeaten home games if they win this match.

Wolverhampton will play at the Etihad stadium without their manager Gary O’Neil on the sidelines due to a one-match touchline ban and an £8,000 fine for his behavior after their recent 2-1 defeat by West Ham. Despite this setback, O’Neil will be hoping that his team remains motivated, especially after they ended a difficult winless streak of seven games by defeating Luton Town 2-1 in their last match.

The team’s recent struggles can partly be attributed to facing opponents with little left to play for, but as they look ahead to the next season, there are still goals to strive for, such as scoring five more goals to match their best top-flight season performance since 1972/73. However, their lack of goals in four out of six away matches against top eight teams suggests that they may face challenges in achieving this target in their upcoming game.

Head-to-head

Manchester City will aim to avenge their surprising 1-2 loss to Wolves earlier in the season at Molineux Stadium. Prior to that defeat, City had won six consecutive matches against Wolves.

Prediction

Despite being considered the underdogs in Saturday’s match, Wolverhampton are heading to the Etihad Stadium with confidence. They have already defeated Man City this season and have also secured wins against Chelsea and Tottenham on the road since the beginning of the year. However, Man City has been dominant at home, and if they field both Foden and Haaland in the attack, they will be confident in their ability to score more goals than Wolves.
